Foracort Inhaler 6/400mcg (120mdi), a Budesonide and Formoterol Fumarate combination inhalation medicine, is prescribed to prevent asthma attacks. It also stops flare-ups or deteriorating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Budesonide inhaler is a corticosteroid drug that stops the release of inflammation-causing chemicals and substances in the body. Formoterol Fumarate, on the other hand, is a bronchodilator inhaler that functions by relaxing muscles in the air passages to enhance breathing. The combination inhaler is indicated for use in adults 18 and older only. It is not prescribed to children twelve years of age and younger or adolescents 13 to 17 years of age. In asthma patients, a Foracort inhaler is used daily to help prevent asthma symptoms such as breathlessness and wheezing. It is recommended to use this reliever inhaler when you have asthma symptoms to make it easier to breathe again. COPD is a long-term lung disorder of the airways in the lungs. Symptoms of the medication include chest discomfort, cough, breathlessness, and coughing up mucus. The combination inhaler is also effective in treating the symptoms of severe COPD in adults. Budesonide Formoterol Fumarate may also be used for conditions not listed above.
