5 reviews for Metoclopramide (Reglan)
Reglan contains Metoclopramide.
Metoclopramide is a medicine that relieves nausea and vomiting and helps the stomach empty faster.
Because it can cause movement side effects, it is usually used for no more than 5 days.
What is it used for?
- Nausea and vomiting, including from migraine and after surgery
- Slow stomach emptying (gastroparesis), especially in diabetes
- Reflux (in some countries)
How does it work?
Metoclopramide blocks dopamine in the vomiting centre of the brain and helps the stomach and gut muscles push food along.

Like all medicines, Reglan can cause side effects, but not everybody gets them.
