Cardivas CR 40 is a prescription medication which belongs to a group of medicines called beta blockers. It is often recommended with other medicines to treat the following condition. — Herat failure – To treat mild to moderate-severe chronic heart failure of ischemic or cardiomyopathic origin, usually in addition to diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and digitalis, to reduce the risk of hospitalization and increase overall health. — Hypertension (high blood pressure) – Cardivas is a controlled-release tablet for managing essential hypertension. It can be used alone or with other antihypertensive agents, especially thiazide diuretics. — Left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction – Carvedilol is also used to reduce mortality in clinically stable patients who have survived the acute phase of myocardial infarction.
