Kombiglyze XR 5/1000 mg

Kombiglyze XR5/1000 mg is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with Type 2 diabetes. It contains two different medicines called sitagliptin and metformin. Sitagliptin is categorized under the class of drugs known as DPP-4 inhibitors, whereas metformin belongs to a class of drugs known as biguanides. Both medicines control blood sugar levels in adults with Type 2 diabetes. This combination of medicine helps to increase the levels of insulin released after a meal and reduces the amount of sugar your body makes. Along with diet and exercise, the medicine helps to control blood sugar levels. The combination of antidiabetic agents can be used alone or with certain other medicines for diabetes (such as sulphonylureas, insulin, or glitazones).
