Ramipres 1.25 contains the active ingredient ramipril, which belongs to a group of medicines known as ACE inhibitors (Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors), which work by decreasing the production of substances that could increase the blood pressure. It makes your blood vessels relax and widen, making it easier for your heart to pump around your body. ACE inhibitors are a class of drugs that inhibit the action of Angiotensin-converting enzymes in the body. Angiotensin II is responsible for causing constriction of blood vessels and increasing blood pressure. ACE inhibitors relax the blood vessels and decrease elevated blood pressure. Ramipres tablets can be used to treat the following conditions: — High blood pressure — The risk of you having a heart attack or stroke — Reduce the risk or delay the worsening of kidney problems — Heart failure (when your heart can’t pump enough blood to the rest of your body) — As treatment following a heart attack complicated with heart failure
