Ramistar H 10 / 12.5mg

Ramistar H 10/12.5 mg is a prescription medication for patients with hypertension condition. It is not prescribed for initial therapy. Hypertension is a condition in which the force of the blood is high against the walls of the arteries, that can elevate the risk of heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease. Patients in whom Ramipril and diuretic medicine are initiated simultaneously can develop symptomatic hypotension. Ramistar H contains Ramipril, categorized under the class of medicines known as Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors that act on the heart and blood vessels. Ramipril works by blocking an enzyme required to produce a substance that causes tightening of blood vessels. This medication also contains hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic that is sometimes called water pills. Diuretics are meant to reduce the amount of salt and water in your body, which in turn causes relaxation of blood vessels and allows an easy blood flow in the passage of blood vessels, thus lowering blood pressure.
