Udiliv 300 mg contains the active ingredient Ursodeoxycholic acid, which is effective in the following conditions: – Small gallstones – Individuals who do not want to undergo surgery or are not eligible for gallstone surgery – In whom excessively high cholesterol level has been found in the bile. Udiliv can also be prescribed to treat patients with primary biliary cholangitis (a disease in which liver tissue is damaged by impaired drainage of the bile) and liver and biliary diseases caused by cystic fibrosis (an inherited disease characterized by the build-up of thick mucus that can damage the body organs). Ursodeoxycholic acid influences the composition of bile, by which cholesterol gallstones can be resolved. The effects of this drug in primary biliary cholangitis and cystic fibrosis are by various mechanisms: one protective effect on the liver cells and the other affecting the immune system.
