Brand Levitra contains Vardenafil.

Vardenafil is a medicine for men who have erectile dysfunction (ED), which means trouble getting or keeping an erection firm enough for sex. It is the same active ingredient that is in the brand Levitra.

Vardenafil usually starts working in 25 to 60 minutes, and one dose helps for about 4 to 5 hours. Many men find it works well even if they have diabetes or have had prostate surgery.

What is it used for?

How does it work?

When a man is sexually excited, blood flows into the penis to make it hard. A natural chemical called PDE5 slowly stops this. Vardenafil blocks PDE5, so blood flows in more easily and the erection lasts. You still need to be aroused for it to work.

Read these points before you start. If any of them apply to you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist first.

Never take it if you use a nitrate medicine for chest pain (such as nitroglycerin/GTN spray or isosorbide) or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrite). Together they can make your blood pressure drop to a dangerous level.
Do not take it if you use riociguat, a medicine for high blood pressure in the lungs.
Check with your doctor first if you have heart disease, have been told to avoid sex because of your heart, or had a heart attack or stroke in the last 6 months.
Tell your doctor if you have very low or uncontrolled high blood pressure, or liver or kidney problems.
Tell your doctor if you have an eye disease such as retinitis pigmentosa, or have ever suddenly lost sight in one eye.
Tell your doctor if your penis has an unusual shape (for example Peyronie's disease) or you have a condition that can cause long erections, such as sickle cell anaemia, leukaemia or multiple myeloma.
Tell your doctor if you have a bleeding problem or an active stomach ulcer.
Some medicines can raise the amount of this medicine in your blood, such as ritonavir and other HIV medicines, ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin and erythromycin. Alpha-blockers (for example doxazosin or tamsulosin) can make your blood pressure drop more.
Do not drink lots of alcohol or grapefruit juice with it. They can raise side effects like dizziness and low blood pressure.
It does not protect against pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections.
It is only for adult men aged 18 and over. It is not for women or children.
Tell your doctor if you or someone in your family has a heart rhythm problem called long QT syndrome, or if you take medicines for an uneven heartbeat (such as amiodarone, sotalol or quinidine).
The usual highest dose is 20 mg a day. Some strengths sold (for example 40 mg to 100 mg) are higher than this. Only take a higher strength if a doctor has told you it is right for you.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every other medicine, vitamin or herbal product you use.
Keep this product out of the reach and sight of children.

Like all medicines, Brand Levitra can cause side effects, but not everybody gets them.

Common side effects

Headache
Flushing (your face feels warm and looks red)
Stuffy or runny nose
Indigestion or upset stomach
Feeling dizzy

These are usually mild and often get better as your body gets used to it. Tell your doctor if they bother you or do not go away.

Stop using it and get medical help straight away if you notice:

An erection that lasts longer than 4 hours (this can damage the penis if it is not treated quickly)
Sudden loss or dimming of sight in one or both eyes
Sudden loss of hearing, or ringing in the ears with dizziness
Chest pain, fainting or an uneven heartbeat during or after sex
Signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips or tongue, a bad rash, or trouble breathing

Take one tablet about 25 to 60 minutes before sex.
Swallow it whole with a glass of water.
A big or fatty meal can make it start working later. It works best on an empty stomach or after a light meal.
Most men start with 10 mg. Your doctor may change this to 5 mg or 20 mg.
Never take more than one dose in 24 hours.

If you miss a dose: You only take this medicine when you need it, so you cannot really miss a dose. Never take two doses in one day.

If you use too much: Contact your doctor, a poison control centre or your local emergency number straight away, even if you feel fine. Take the pack with you.

How to store it: Keep it in its original pack at room temperature (below 25°C / 77°F), away from heat, damp and direct sunlight. Do not use it after the expiry date.

Will Brand Levitra give me an erection without being turned on?: No. It only helps your body respond when you are sexually excited. Without arousal, nothing will happen.
Can I drink alcohol with Brand Levitra?: A small drink is usually fine, but a lot of alcohol makes erections harder to get and raises the chance of dizziness and low blood pressure.
Is Brand Levitra addictive?: No. It is not habit-forming. You can stop using it at any time.
How long does Brand Levitra work for?: It usually helps for about 4 to 5 hours. During that time, your body can respond more easily when you are aroused.
