Xafinact 50 mg uses include the treatment of Parkinson’s disease in adults. It is used as add-on therapy to a stable dose of Levodopa alone in combination with other anti-parkinson’s drugs in mid to late-stage fluctuating patients. It contains the active ingredient Safinamide, which increases dopamine levels in the brain, thus decreasing the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Dopamine is a chemical involved in the control of movement and is present in reduced amounts in the brains of patients with Parkinson’s disease.
