Malegra DXT combines two medicines in one tablet: sildenafil and duloxetine. It is sold for men who have both erectile dysfunction (trouble getting or keeping an erection) and premature ejaculation (coming too soon).

Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra. Duloxetine is an antidepressant (known from the brand Cymbalta) that can delay ejaculation. Duloxetine usually works best when taken every day, so a single dose may have only a small effect on ejaculation. Your doctor can advise the best way to use it.

How does it work?

Sildenafil blocks a natural chemical called PDE5, so blood flows into the penis more easily when you are aroused. Duloxetine raises the brain chemicals serotonin and noradrenaline, which can help delay ejaculation.

Read these points before you start. If any of them apply to you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist first.

Never take it if you use a nitrate medicine for chest pain (such as nitroglycerin/GTN spray or isosorbide) or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrite). Together they can make your blood pressure drop to a dangerous level.
Do not take it if you use riociguat, a medicine for high blood pressure in the lungs.
Check with your doctor first if you have heart disease, have been told to avoid sex because of your heart, or had a heart attack or stroke in the last 6 months.
Tell your doctor if you have very low or uncontrolled high blood pressure, or liver or kidney problems.
Tell your doctor if you have an eye disease such as retinitis pigmentosa, or have ever suddenly lost sight in one eye.
Tell your doctor if your penis has an unusual shape (for example Peyronie's disease) or you have a condition that can cause long erections, such as sickle cell anaemia, leukaemia or multiple myeloma.
Tell your doctor if you have a bleeding problem or an active stomach ulcer.
Some medicines can raise the amount of this medicine in your blood, such as ritonavir and other HIV medicines, ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin and erythromycin. Alpha-blockers (for example doxazosin or tamsulosin) can make your blood pressure drop more.
Do not drink lots of alcohol or grapefruit juice with it. They can raise side effects like dizziness and low blood pressure.
It does not protect against pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections.
This product also contains an antidepressant. Do not take it with other antidepressants (including MAOIs, or within 2 weeks of stopping one), lithium, linezolid, tramadol, triptans for migraine or St John's wort. This could cause serotonin syndrome.
Tell your doctor if you have ever had depression, bipolar disorder, mania, epilepsy, glaucoma or a bleeding problem.
Antidepressants can, rarely, cause dark thoughts, especially in people under 25. Tell someone close to you that you are taking it.
Combination tablets like this are not approved in the USA or UK. Talk to your doctor before using it.
It is only for adult men aged 18 and over.
Tell your doctor if you have liver problems or drink a lot of alcohol, as duloxetine can affect the liver.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every other medicine, vitamin or herbal product you use.
Keep this product out of the reach and sight of children.

Like all medicines, Malegra DXT can cause side effects, but not everybody gets them.

Common side effects

Headache
Flushing (your face feels warm and looks red)
Stuffy or runny nose
Indigestion or upset stomach
Feeling dizzy
Feeling sick, dry mouth or sweating
Trouble sleeping or feeling sleepy

These are usually mild and often get better as your body gets used to it. Tell your doctor if they bother you or do not go away.

Stop using it and get medical help straight away if you notice:

An erection that lasts longer than 4 hours (this can damage the penis if it is not treated quickly)
Sudden loss or dimming of sight in one or both eyes
Sudden loss of hearing, or ringing in the ears with dizziness
Chest pain, fainting or an uneven heartbeat during or after sex
Signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips or tongue, a bad rash, or trouble breathing
Fever, sweating, shaking, fast heartbeat and confusion (possible serotonin syndrome)
A fit (seizure), or sudden mood changes or thoughts of self-harm
Unusual bruising or bleeding

This is not a complete list. If you notice anything unusual, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take one tablet about 1 hour before sex, with a glass of water.
Swallow it whole. A big or fatty meal may slow it down.
Never take more than one tablet in 24 hours.
Avoid alcohol while using it.

If you miss a dose: You only take this medicine when you need it, so you cannot really miss a dose. Never take two doses in one day.

If you use too much: Contact your doctor, a poison control centre or your local emergency number straight away, even if you feel fine. Take the pack with you.

How to store it: Keep it in its original pack at room temperature (below 25°C / 77°F), away from heat, damp and direct sunlight. Do not use it after the expiry date.

Will Malegra DXT give me an erection without being turned on?: No. It only helps your body respond when you are sexually excited. Without arousal, nothing will happen.
Can I drink alcohol with Malegra DXT?: A small drink is usually fine, but a lot of alcohol makes erections harder to get and raises the chance of dizziness and low blood pressure.
Is Malegra DXT addictive?: No. It is not habit-forming. You can stop using it at any time.
Is it safe to take Malegra DXT if I already take an antidepressant?: No, not without your doctor's advice. Taking two antidepressants together can cause a serious reaction called serotonin syndrome.
