Nizoral contains Ketoconazole.
Ketoconazole tablets are an antifungal medicine taken by mouth. Because they can cause serious liver damage, they are only used for serious fungal infections when other antifungal medicines cannot be used.
In some countries, ketoconazole tablets are also used by specialists to treat Cushing's syndrome (too much of the hormone cortisol). For skin and scalp problems, ketoconazole creams and shampoos are much safer.
