Drug Information
1 review for Dalfampridine (Ampyra)
Ampyra contains Dalfampridine.
Dalfampridine (also called fampridine) is a medicine that can help adults with multiple sclerosis (MS) walk better. It does not work for everyone. Your doctor will check whether it helps you after a trial of about 2 to 4 weeks.
What is it used for?
- Improving walking in adults with MS
How does it work?
MS damages the coating (myelin) around nerves, which lets signals leak away. Dalfampridine blocks potassium channels on damaged nerves, helping signals travel further.
